Comprehensive birth doula care for mothers — services thoughtfully organized to help you build confidence in your body’s good design and to reflect on the sacred reality of pregnancy and childbirth. Includes two prenatal preparation sessions, continuous labor support, and one postpartum session.

Birth Doula Services
Prenatal Sessions
Session 1:
Planning — Establish your birth, feeding, and postpartum plans and hopes. A lovely time to get to know each other and connect; this session gives me the opportunity to begin to understand how I can best serve you, with your own unique circumstances and personal desires, as we walk the journey together.
Session 2:
Comfort Measures — Learn several ways you can prepare for your labor. We will practice breathing techniques, positioning, massage, etc. During this time, I can help your birth companion understand the labor process, how he or she can be available to you in labor, and what you will need in the early postpartum period.
Continuous Labor Support
When you give me a call letting me know that you are in labor, I will be there when you are ready for me. You will have the ongoing support and care of a doula who is committed to be a quiet, calm, and comforting presence as you do the good work of birth. I will be there to secure a quiet atmosphere, to help you cope as needed and to encourage you and those with you. As your unique birth unfolds, I can help you advocate for yourself, if needed.
Postpartum Session
Reflection Session: Together, we will debrief and reflect upon the unfolding of your birth. Reflection and the re-telling of our stories again and again will help us to make sense of our lives and the events that make them, and birth is a life-changing and sacred event — no matter how many times we’ve done it. This will be a time set aside for you to reflect on the joys and challenges of your birth. We will chat about any needed postpartum resources, how you’re handling initial postpartum life, and set you up with extra support, if needed.
